Mata La Gata is a mangrove cay within the La Parguera Nature Reserve, just a short boat ride from the fishing village of La Parguera. Unlike nearby sandbars, Mata La Gata has a small sandy beach, shaded picnic gazebos, BBQ pits, and a natural ocean pool, making it the most family‑friendly cay in the reserve. It’s a favorite for locals who come by boat or water taxi to spend the day swimming, snorkeling, and grilling under the mangroves.
